To be honest, this one was a mess when it came to us. 10 stations with radically different fonts, colours, carrier shapes, etc. See it to believe it here. We needed to unify the 10 stations that fall under the ROCK brand; making them easily identifiable across Canada. And, to modernize and make contemporary; capturing the essence of what the brand is. Radio is now a visual brand and is becoming more recognized that way in this age of apps.

The result is a design that is badass, bold and with attitude, and a modern rock appeal with a sense of nostalgia. Fonts are simple and stand out; versatile, modern, timeless, while the graphic element adds the touch of distortion and grunge that the brand's anarchist archetype loves. Carrier shape represents a record (symbolic of authentic, live music) and/or speaker. And the splitting in the middle speaks to the anarchist personality of the brand, like breaking something over your knee or smashing a guitar; a metaphor for breaking boundaries. We even have a little hidden Easter egg in the design, view it here.

Note: 105.7 ROCK (currently K-ROCK 105.7) will launch at later, yet to be determined date.
